How We Make Money
MedigapWise is owned by a licensed insurance agency. If you buy a plan through our licensed insurance agents, the insurance company pays us a commission. You pay nothing extra.
We believe you should know how a website earns money before you trust its advice. Here is exactly how MedigapWise works.
Our Business Model
1
You read our guides. Every article on the site is free, with no account or sign-up required.
2
You ask for help, if you want it. Requests go to our own licensed insurance agents. We do not sell your information to other agencies or call centers.
3
You choose a plan, or don’t. If you enroll through us, the insurance company pays our agency a commission. If you don’t, we are paid nothing.
Does Using Us Cost You More?
No. Medigap premiums are set by the insurance company and filed with your state. You pay the same premium whether you enroll through us, another licensed insurance agent, or directly with the company.
What Insurance Companies Can and Cannot Do
They do
✔Pay our agency a commission when we place a policy with them
✔Set their own premiums, approve applications, and pay claims
They do not
✘Pay to be mentioned, ranked, or reviewed on MedigapWise
✘Write, review or approve our content
Commissions and Our Recommendations
Commission amounts can differ between insurance companies and plans. Our licensed insurance agents are expected to show you options that fit your needs and budget, not the ones that pay best. Because benefits are the same for every plan with the same letter, the main thing we compare for you is price and company track record.
Not Every Plan or Company
Please note: We work with many insurance companies, but not all of them. We may not offer every plan available in your area. For information on all of your options, contact Medicare.gov, 1-800-MEDICARE (TTY 1-877-486-2048), or your local State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP).
Advertising on This Site
MedigapWise does not sell ad space to insurance companies or anyone else. Buttons that offer quotes or help connect you with our own licensed insurance agents, not with an outside advertiser. If that ever changes, we will label any paid placement clearly and update this page.
